Programming the robot systems is a large part of the service offered by Baier Engineering. However, Baier is increasingly gaining a reputation in the sector as a full-range supplier of systems including protective barriers, CE markings, feasibility analyses on a robot-PC basis and many other services.
The palletizing system with a robot supplied to the Schrozberg dairy also includes conveyor transportation, loading and unloading plus the handling of pallets and the intermediate layers. What is special about this project is that the robot also unloads empty pallets, handles intermediate layers and stacks buckets with different containers using just one gripper. The warm-up time for buckets with dairy products is approx. three seconds in each case. Different tools are required when stacking different containers (2, 3, 5 or 10 kg). The robot identifies the container and selects the necessary tool on its own.

The robot control aligns the buckets with and without handles fully automatically. After the robot has stacked the pallet, it moves it out of the unit fully automatically.

OLP programming is a practical way of avoiding production downtime. Programming is developed via simulation and then loaded into the actual robot afterwards. Great emphasis is also placed on the optimum workflow for processes. In this case, the BMW project involves riveting, plasma and laser welding, Fronius welding, bonding and the use of threaded-fasteners. A high level of quality and automation has been achieved here.

Lützel – Loading/unloading a CNC machine

At the company Lützel in Waldstetten a robot loads a blank into a CNC machine. After the part has been machined, the robot removes the finished piece from the machine as part of a fully automatic process and places it on a conveyor or in a crate. In this case the precise procedure cannot be fully shown on film because the customer has asked for this to remain confidential. Baier Engineering respects its customers' wishes and attaches great importance to mutual trust.

Hager - Loading/unloading/handling for RAS UpDownBend folding press

The task of loading and unloading a folding press – in this case RAS's UpDownBend folding press – can be performed and optimised simply and accurately with a robot. It can be precisely coordinated with the engineering in terms of the position and timing. This entire system, including the conveyor belts, protective barrier, robot system and CE conformity, has been delivered by Baier Engineering.

Wagon

Here the robot system is shown without a workpiece, as we do not have permission to show the active process. It is used to produce the bodies for the Mercedes Benz S-Class with riveting, plasma and laser cutting, spot welding, Fronius welding, bonding, threaded-fasteners, marking and inspecting. Baier Engineering supplied the OLP and online programming.

When Dubai celebrated its 43th National Day the entire laser show with timecode control, including the set-up, correction, adjustment and therefore the entire start-up on site, was handled by Baier Engineering. The event organiser was Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai.
